Doo-wop to vocal pop group from Brooklyn, New York City, USA. Formed in 1955 by Hank Medress. The original band included Neil Sedaka, but it was not until Medress reassembled the group in 1960, with brothers Phil and Mitch Margo and lead vocalist Jay Siegel, that they really hit the big time.
Biography Biography Throughout the sixties THE TOKENS wrote, produced and recorded some of music's most well known songs. Besides their smash recording of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," they also had hits with "Tonight I Fell in Love," "I Hear Trumpets Blow," and "Portrait of My Love."
