The Atlantics are an Australian surf band founded in 1961. Initially, the band line-up consisted of drummer Peter Hood, bassist Bosco Bosanac, Theo Penglis on lead and rhythm guitar, and guitarist Eddy Matzenik. Matzenik was replaced by Jim Skaithitis while the band was still in its earliest stages, long before the band recorded or released albums.

1. Jan. 2000 · They were Peter Hood on drums, Theo Penglis on lead and rhythm guitar, and bass player Bosco Bosanac. Original guitarist Eddy Matzenik, was replaced very early on by Jim Skaithitis. 18. Jan. 2023 · The most significant event of the evening is the appearance of original group member Theo Penglis who joins the trio on stage to perform versions of Bombora and Night Star, the latter off the group’s CD. It was the first time Penglis has played with the group since 1970.
4. Feb. 2024 · Thaao Penglis’ latest creative project, a podcast titled “The Lost Treasures,” launched in autumn 2023, is an attempt to shed new light on ancient heroes and civilizations.

24. Sept. 2021 · The members were schooled at Maroubra Boys High, with Theo Penglis coming through Sydney Grammar. From the start Hood was, as Skiathitis, terms it: “The driving force. He was a powerful character, both creatively and as a muscly, imposing drummer. He always drove us forward.”
