Bobby Byrd (* 15. August 1934 in South Carolina; † 12. September 2007 in Loganville) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Musiker, Songwriter und Musikproduzent im Bereich Funk und Soul. Als Bandleader gründete er die Gospel Starlighters und war zudem langjähriger Sideman von James Brown.

Vicki Anderson (born Myra Barnes; November 21, 1939 – July 3, 2023) was an American soul singer best known for her performances with the James Brown Revue. She recorded a number of singles under both her birth and stage names. She was the widow of Bobby Byrd and mother of musician Carleen Anderson .
"Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine" is a song recorded by James Brown with Bobby Byrd on backing vocals. Released as a two-part single in 1970, it was a no. 2 R&B hit and reached no. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2004, "Sex Machine" was ranked number 326 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.
