Die Band wurde Anfang 1989 gegründet. Ihr Debütalbum Tin Machine erreichte in UK Position 3, in den US Platz 28, in DE Position 13 und in AT Position 19. Doch mit ihrem zweiten Studioalbum Tin Machine II hatten sie nur mäßigen Erfolg (Platz 23 in UK, Platz 126 in US und Platz 25 in AT).

Tin Tin released its eponymous debut album in 1970 and a follow-up, "Astral Taxi" (1971), both of which were produced by Maurice Gibb who also provided some instrumental backing. Tin Tin debuted on the U.S. Pop/Rock charts in 1971 with the romantic and slightly warbly "Toast And Marmalade For Tea," which became a Top 20 hit and the band's best known song.
