Rounder Records were fabulous at recording soul/blues singers later in their lives. Perfectly evocative of a "smoke filled room." Chains of Love is a lovely gritty blues, but there's a real variety including softer soulful moments like Heart Full of rain and genuine southern soul like Sweet Touch of Love and the gospel-tinged True Believer.
