The University of Cambridge is a public collegiate research university in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1209, the University of Cambridge is the world's third-oldest university in continuous operation. The university's founding followed the arrival of scholars who left the University of Oxford for Cambridge after a dispute with local townspeople.

The University of Cambridge is a diverse international community and welcomes talented students from around the world. We are one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in the world and 41% of our students (around 9,948 students) are from outside the UK, representing around 140 countries.
No two days are ever the same at the University of Cambridge. The University is a confederation of Schools, Faculties, Departments and Colleges. The 31 Colleges are governed by their own statutes and regulations, but are integral to the make-up of the University.
