The University of Nigeria is the first full-fledged indigenous and first autonomous university in Nigeria, founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and opened in 1960. It has 17 faculties and 102 academic departments, offering 108 undergraduate and 211 postgraduate programs. It has three campuses in Enugu State and a history of international co-operation and service to the needs of Nigeria.
