Apr. 2024 · Alfred Waterhouse (born July 19, 1830, Liverpool, Eng.—died Sept. 22, 1905, Yattendon, Berkshire) was an English architect who worked in the style of High Victorian medieval eclecticism. He is remembered principally for his elaborately planned complexes of educational and civic buildings. Waterhouse was an apprentice to Richard Lane in Manchester.
