27. Feb. 2015 · Wally, eigentlich Walburga Neuzil, war zwischen 1911 und 1915 Lieblingsmodell und Lebenspartnerin von Egon Schiele. Das berühmte „Bildnis Wally Neuzil“ (1912) des Leopold Museums ist der Ausgangspunkt für eine Spurensuche, die die von Männern dominierte Kunstwelt des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts dekonstruiert.
Die Schau im Leopold Museum nähert sich Walburga »Wally« Neuzil (1894–1917) anhand von Kunstwerken, Autografen, Fotos und Dokumenten. Zu sehen sind bedeutende Schiele Gemälde wie »Tod und Mädchen«, eine wichtige Leihgabe aus dem Belvedere, sowie andere Zeichnungen und Aquarelle des Künstlers, für die Wally Modell stand.
Die wohl bekannteste Muse Egon Schieles war Walburga/Wally Neuzil. Im Alter von 17 Jahren lernte sie das Enfant terrible der Wiener Kunstwelt kennen. Zunächst eines von mehreren Modellen, spielte sie im Leben und Werk des aufstrebenden Künstlers bald eine Schlüsselrolle.
