2. Dez. 2021 · It's no secret that We Need to Talk about Kevin is intended to challenge your assumptions about the people we think of as "evil." The film primarily shows you the pathos of evil by painting a portrait of a deeply and violently disturbed young man from his mother's point of view, and you watch how this relationship built and how that pathos developed.
Eva of course is not faultless, but as the Title says "we need to talk about kevin". The lack of communication between Eva, Kevin, the dad and therapists ultimately culminated into how Kevin turned out, not to mention, quite literally genetics does play big part, Kevin parallels Eva which is shown throughout the movie . 14. Aug. 2021 · I liked the uncertainty of an unreliable narrator in We Need to Talk About Kevin. Everything is told from the mom's point of view after the fact. While she's so insistent that Kevin is innately "off" and evil, she also admits that she never bonded with him. Because he's so evil, sure.

Kevin is assumed to be lying about the sexual assault but we don't have any proof of that, or that he convinced his friend to lie rather than his friend jumping on the bandwagon and made a joke of things. The fact that after the case is dismissed and his mother doesn't believe him, he decides to commit mass murder at the school, makes me wonder about how angry he was about the whole thing and ...
9. Mai 2024 · It has so much more disturbing details and is extremely comprehensive of Kevin's problematic behavior from birth to the incident. The movie leaves out a lot - I was actually surprised that they left out so much. Fun fact: My dog's middle name was Kevin because of the book/movie. 27. Juli 2022 · I noticed We Need to Talk about Kevin is on Amazon Prime. It is one of the films that just fell through the cracks. I know it is a rough movie to watch but given the real things surrounding Ezra Miller will it be even more creepy. Do I need to be in the right mind set to even want to watch this movie?

The movie hints us that this is because they make her the responsible for the school massacre, either because she raised him, they think she helped him, or for any other reason we can think of.
