"Wet Hot American Summer" war als Parodie auf die Teenie-Klamotten der 1980er gemeint und funktioniert auch bedingt (szenenweise). Es gibt einige wenige Lacher, einige gute Ideen und massenhaft schlechte Frisuren, aber das Klamauk-Gewirr findet zu keiner Einheit, der Film bleibt kaum mehr als eine Aneinanderreihung halbgarer Sketche.
