Rockstown Castle or as it is also called Williamstown Castle is situated about half a mile north-west of Sheehan's Cross which is about 7½ miles south of Limerick City on the main road from Limerick to Kilmallock. It is a 15th-century tower-house sitting on a rocky outcrop behind the ruins of Rockstown House.

Williamstown and it is annotated as Williamstown Castle and University Civil Service College respectively. GENERAL Described as on 4 acres enclosed within a stone wall in 1821. Now integrated into Blackrock College. Its gatelodge was designed as a castle in miniature and is no longer extant.
