The overall sound of the album is all over the place emphasized by each Beatle going in their own direction with the track list sprawled across 2 albums. There is also some irony in it being called 'The Beatles' despite only like 1/3rd of the songs containing all 4 members, they even are photographed on the inside separately instead of together. It's a very bipolar album in general.
