Yeshiva Torah Vodaas [1] is a yeshiva in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York . History. The yeshiva was conceived in 1917 and formally opened in 1918, by Binyomin Wilhelm and Louis Dershowitz, to provide a yeshiva education to the children of families then moving from the Lower East Side to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.

Binyomin Wilhelm (1886–1972) [3] was a founder of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas. [4] Biography. Born in Lodz, Poland, Binyomin was the oldest son of a Radoshitzer chassidic family. [5] His mother died when he was eight years old, [6] and he left Europe by himself in 1907 based on correspondence with a friend who preceded him to America. [7]
