Alfred Josef Ferdinand Jodl (10. května 1890, Würzburg – 16. října 1946, Norimberk; rodným jménem Alfred Baumgärtler) byl německý důstojník zastávající funkci náčelníka operačního štábu německých ozbrojených sil za druhé světové války a byl zástupcem Wilhelma Keitela.
Alfred JodlAlfred Jodl (c. 1892-1946) was a top German military officer during World War II and part of the leadership cadre around Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. For his military strategies and orders that led to deaths of enemy troops and civilians throughout Europe, Jodl was arrested in 1945 and hanged a year later with several other top Nazis as a war criminal.
Jodl war einer der 24 im Nürnberger Prozess gegen die Hauptkriegsverbrecher vor dem Internationalen Militärgerichtshof angeklagten Personen. Er wurde am 1. Oktober 1946 in allen Anklagepunkten, darunter Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit und Kriegsverbrechen, schuldig gesprochen und zum Tod durch Erhängen verurteilt. Mit neun weiteren Verurteilten wurde er in Nürnberg hingerichtet.
Alfred Jodl was born in Wuerzburg, Germany, on May 10, 1890. He attended cadet school and 1910 joined a field military regiment in the German Army. Soon after the outbreak of the First World War, Jodl suffered a severe thigh wound. He recovered and saw further action on the Western Front and the Eastern Front.
