Am frühen Nachmittag des 21. Juli 1972 wurde im nordirischen Belfast eine Serie von Bombenanschlägen ausgeübt. Innerhalb von etwas mehr als einer Stunde detonierten in der Stadt mindestens 19 Sprengsätze. Neun Menschen starben an diesem "blutigen Freitag", mehr als 130 wurden verletzt.
