  3. So underrated and always worth a listen, Carl truly is a magician of his music. So sad it didn't sell too well, this deserves so much more credit. Of course, it's not perfect for everyone, it's rather personal preferences if you like this style of unusual music. Give it a listen if you like to! He is best remembered for his performances with the Curtis Counce Quintet, which also featured Harold Land, Jack Sheldon and drummer Frank Butler. He also performed with Tiny Bradshaw, Big Jay McNeely in 1948–49, and played dates with Miles Davis in 1950.
