The famous water lily ponds and colourful gardens created by the Master of Impressionism, Claude Monet, at his home in Giverny, close to Paris and Rouen, gave him his greatest artistic inspiration and have made this tiny river Seine-side village famous all over the world.
4. Mai 2024 · 1. Monet’s House and Studio. Claude Monet spent the last years of his life in Giverny, and you can get a glimpse into his final days in his house and studio. The site was preserved by a non-profit organization known as Fondation Monet, and it’s bright, cheery, and welcoming, with lots of colors.
14. Mai 2024 · Claude Monet made Giverny his home in 1883, when he bought the iconic house (which was once abandoned) and remodelled the gardens himself. He created a small pool of water by manipulating the course of the Epte stream to suit his garden’s aesthetic.
