Daniel Dukes was a 27-year-old man who died in 1999 after entering the orca tank of Tilikum, a SeaWorld whale. The Sheriff's Report reveals how he was found naked and lifeless on the back of the orca, and how he died from drowning and multiple injuries. The report also reveals how Tilikum was not observed by SeaWorld staff and how he was painted as an unstable person by the media.

Daniel Dukes was a troubled individual with a history of petty thefts, marijuana use, and questionable decisions but as a human being, no death is meaningless. Unwittingly, Dukes will forever be remembered as Tilikum’s second victim and SeaWorld’s first major incident.
