The Federal Cabinet (German: Bundeskabinett pronounced [ˈbʊndəskabiˌnɛt] ⓘ), or according to the German Basic Law, the Federal Government (German: Bundesregierung), is the chief executive body of the Federal Republic of Germany. It consists of the Federal Chancellor and cabinet ministers.

7. Aug. 2023 · Who is in the Federal Cabinet? In addition to the Federal Chancellor, the Federal Cabinet has been made up of 15 ministers since the 2021 Bundestag elections. Each newly elected government decides on the competences of the individual ministries and can split or merge ministries.
The Cabinet may have to be reshuffled during a Federal Government’s ongoing term of office if ministerial offices are reallocated. The Cabinet has an important role to play in day-to-day government. It meets every Wednesday and is chaired by the Chancellor. Whenever the Chancellor is unable to attend, his deputy chairs the Cabinet meetings.
