Februar 1896 in Karlsruhe; † 31. März 1997 in Göttingen) war ein deutscher Physiker. Nach Studien in Marburg und Göttingen wurde er 1927 Professor für Physik in Rostock. Ab 1929 lehrte er in Leipzig, ab 1946 in Jena, ab 1951 in Frankfurt am Main und ab 1957 in Göttingen, wo er 1964 emeritiert wurde.
