International Standard ISO 4217 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 68, Banking, securities and other financial services. This sixth edition cancels and replaces the fifth edition (ISO 4217:1995), of which it constitutes a minor revision.
ISO 4217:2015 specifies the structure for a three-letter alphabetic code and an equivalent three-digit numeric code for the representation of currencies. For those currencies having minor units, it also shows the decimal relationship between such units and the currency itself.
