7. Okt. 2011 · Oct 7, 2011. #1. As many of you know, Jonathon Frakes had a co-starring role in the ABC Mini-Series North and South, North and South Book II, and North and South Book III. He played the part of Stanley Hazard but since he did such a good job in the role, I think it help him get role Commander Riker on Star Trek The Next Generation in 1987.
30. Nov. 2012 · Did a Google search for "Jonathan Frakes' nose" and the first result was this thread. Age sounds like a believable explanation to me. I had one nostril sewn up after an accident 40 years ago, but it's not deforming. Yet.
Jonathan Frakes seems to have been born into a body a bit too big for him. He doesn't know how to use it and comes across as 'ungainly'. He doesn't stand tall and proud like Worf and seems uncomfortable in his skin, but I have especially noticed his cornering. Riker will have his scene...

Jonathan Frakes, more than any other cast member, was able to bring out The Very Best from TNG's ensemble. If you look at the episodes and movies he's directed, the cast seems very much at ease with eachother, and the material. They were very "present" in those projects. And here he is, in fact, explaining his famous nickname:
9. Feb. 2011 · Journey's End: The Saga of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Part 1 of 6. Hosted by Jonathan Frakes. This special was aired in May 1994, shortly before the series finale. It features a look back at the series, interviews with cast and crew, and a sneak peak at the series finale and the movie "Generations": Sort of bittersweet to watch this.
6. Jan. 2003 · Yes, Frakes re-grew his own beard in the hiatus after season 1, Roddenberry liked it, and he kept it. However, Frakes has mentioned in one of the DVD docs that, at the beginning of Season 2, the beard was still patchy in a few spots, so the makeup or hair artist supplemented it w/ some fake (actually, probably another human's real hair), until ...
14. Jan. 2010 · Red Shirt. Jan 14, 2010. #1. I'm sorry if this was mentioned already. Frakes was on a new episode of Criminal Minds last night and I hardly recognized him until he spoke. Wasn't make up or anything, just he aged. I know everyone ages, but wow!
