Am 5. September 1940 wurde "Jud Süß" auf den Filmfestspielen in Venedig unter großem Beifall des deutsch-italienischen Publikums uraufgeführt. Die deutsche Erstaufführung fand am 24. September in Anwesenheit von Goebbels und anderen hohen Vertretern aus Politik und Film im Berliner Ufa-Palast statt.
