Vor 4 Tagen · I don’t mean to disparage the Kingston Trio or their version of “Tom Dooley.” It’s a great cover of a great folk song, and the Kingston Trio should be applauded for bringing the song (and others like it) to a wider audience. But 1958 was an incredible year for country music, and “Tom Dooley” just doesn’t compare.
