Zusammen mit Ärzte-Schlagzeuger Bela B. spielte er 2006 den Song Lee Hazlewood & das erste Lied des Tages ein, der auf Bela B.s Soloalbum Bingo sowie auf Hazlewoods letztem Album Cake or Death zu finden ist, das im Dezember 2006 veröffentlicht wurde. Am 9. November 2002 wurde Lee Hazlewood zum Ehrenmitglied von wortvirus e.V.i.G. ernannt.
Cake or Death passt zu Lee Hazlewood. Er hätte kein besseres Album zum Abschluss machen können. Auch wenn vielleicht 2-3 Song etwas schwächer geraten sind, haben sie duchaus ihre Berechtigung, weil sie für den grossen Hazlewood auf sein Lebensabschlusswerk gehören. Und auch gerade die deutschen Kollaborationen sind eigentümlich und wirklich klasse - man ihr Deutschen, freut Euch doch ...
