Fakt ist, dass Napoleon am 5. Mai 1821 in Longwood House auf der Insel St. Helena starb. Nach einer Autopsie wurde als offizielle Todesursache Magenkrebs und ein perforiertes Magengeschwür notiert. Gerüchte, dass eine jahrlange in seinen Wein geschüttete niedrige Dosis von Arsen schlussendlich zu seinen Tode führte, verstummten nie ganz.
