6. Mai 2024 · Mario Monti (born March 19, 1943, Varese, Italy) is an Italian economist, academic, and bureaucrat who served as prime minister of Italy (2011–13). Monti, the son of a banker, studied economics and management at Bocconi University in Milan and received a degree in 1965.
Mario Monti is President of Bocconi University (since 1994) and Italian Senator for life (since 2011). In August 2020 he has been appointed Chairman of the “Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development: Rethinking Policy Priorities in the light of Pandemics”, convened by WHO/Europe.
