Sussex-based Sixties pop star Mark Wynter stole thousands of hearts when he stormed the charts with the hit singles Venus in Blue Jeans and Go Away Little Girl. Hatch immediately thought of a perfect song for the teen idol, and sealed the deal. Before long, Wynter had made his Pye debut with Howard Greenfield and Jack Keller's "Venus in Blue Jeans." Jimmy Clanton's recording would go to No. 7 in the U.S., but Mark's made No. 4 in the U.K., proving Tony Hatch's instincts to be typically impeccable.
Mark's debut single, a cover of The Safaris' US hit IMAGE OF A GIRL just missed the top ten peaking at No 11 but registered strongly with subsequent releases KICKING UP THE LEAVES, DREAM GIRL, EXCLUSIVELY YOURS and HEAVEN'S PLAN, whilst his LP THE WARMTH OF WYNTER was a steady seller.
Mark is married to ex-professional dancer Emma. They met during a record breaking Summer Season at Bournemouth 's Winter Gardens theatre in THE DICK EMERY SHOW circa 1973. As Mother of their three children she too is a busy gal! She teaches Pilates, Fit Steps, Aerobics and themed workshops for adults and children including Ballet.
