Mustang is the fifth largest district of Nepal in terms of area. The district is a part of Gandaki Province in northern Nepal, straddles the Himalayas and extends northward onto the Tibetan Plateau. Mustang (auch Mustan; Nepali मुस्तांग oder मुस्ताङ) war ein unabhängiges buddhistisches Königreich im Himalaya. Es gehört heute zu Nepal und bildet den nördlichen Teil des nepalesischen Distrikts Mustang. Der Name ist nepalesischen Ursprungs. In der Landessprache wird das Land Lo (Süden) genannt.
