Proxima d is a sub-Earth at least one-quarter of the mass of Earth (or twice the mass of Mars), orbiting at roughly 0.029 AU (4.3 million km; 2.7 million mi) every 5.1 days. It is the least massive and innermost known planet of the Proxima Centauri system.

23. Feb. 2022 · Proxima d is a small and light exoplanet that orbits the nearest star to our sun, Proxima Centauri, at a distance of 4 million kilometers. It is one of the lightest and smallest exoplanets ever found, with an estimated mass of 1/4 of Earth. The researchers used the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope to confirm its probable planetary nature.
