  2. 3. Mai 2021 · The notorious interpretation problems of quantum mechanics are philosophical problems: more specifically, metaphysical problems (see Muller 2015). 5. This chapter serves as an introduction to the philosophical issues raised by quantum theory. It begins with a brief overview of the formalism of quantum theory. The so-called “measurement problem” is introduced, and the main approaches to it surveyed. We then discuss the implications of quantum theory for metaphysics.

  6. David Wallace. https://doi.org/10.1093/acrefore/9780190871994.013.40. Published online: 27 February 2024. Summary. If the philosophy of physics has a central problem, it is the quantum measurement problem: the problem of how to interpret, make sense of, and perhaps even fix quantum mechanics.

  7. The philosophical and physical weaknesses of quantum mechanics are actually in one-to-one correspondence. Given that quantum field theory supersedes quantum mechanics from the physical point of view, we should expect that it sheds light on the philosophical issues as well.
