The Ronettes were an American girl group from Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York City. [1] . The group consisted of lead singer Veronica Bennett (later known as Ronnie Spector), her older sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. They had sung together since they were teenagers, then known as "The Darling Sisters".

Ronnie Spector (* 10. August 1943 als Veronica Yvette Bennett in New York City; † 12. Januar 2022 in Danbury, Connecticut) war eine US-amerikanische Sängerin. Sie wurde als Leadsängerin der Girlgroup The Ronettes bekannt und war auch als Solosängerin sowie in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Musikern erfolgreich.
Following the couple's divorce in 1974, Ronnie reformed the Ronettes and began performing again. In 1980, Spector released her debut solo album Siren. Her career revived when she was featured on Eddie Money 's song and video "Take Me Home Tonight" in 1986, a Billboard top five single.
