Ben Bass is an American-Canadian television and stage actor. He portrayed Sam Swarek in all seventy-four episodes in the ABC police drama series Rookie Blue.
Bass was born in Baltimore, Maryland. When he was 7, he moved with his family to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He speaks French fluently. He started in television on the show 21 Jump Street and stage career in Angry Housewives. After playing the stage role of the young Elvis Presley in Are You Lonesome Tonight at The Charlottetown Festival, he studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and at the L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
At Canada, he appeared in television guest roles before becoming a regular cast member of the series Forever Knight as the vampire Javier Vachon. He also appeared at the Stratford Festival and The Atlantic Theatre Festival in Nova Scotia. Bass has appeared in the TV series Beggars and Choosers, Monk, Flashpoint, Queer as Folk, Law & Order, Dead like me, Stargate SG-1 and Tom Stone, as in TV movies Last Exit, The Love Crimes of Gillian Guess, Bonanno: A Godfather's Story, A Cool Dry Place, The 6th Day and Murder in a Small Town.
