2. Mai 2024 · One of the best ways to see the whole city (literally!) is to visit the famous Calgary Tower. Built in 1961, it’s 191 meters (626 feet) high and one of Calgary’s iconic landmarks. Grab tickets online (Adults $19 CAD; Children $9 CAD), which gets you access to the main attraction: the observation deck.

2. Mai 2024 · 1. Visit the Calgary Zoo. The Calgary Zoo, which opened in 1929, is a popular spot for family excursions in Calgary. This zoo has around 900 animals from all over the world. Travel through the gorilla rainforest, tour the grasslands to observe hippos in the water, or hike the Canadian Rockies to spot a grizzly bear.

Starting at Bowness Park, you can choose where you want to end up, but Prince’s Island in Calgary’s downtown is the most common. The farthest point is Calgary Zoo, 20 km down the stream, which can take 2-4 hours.
9. Mai 2024 · 1.) Kensington. Okay, so Kensington is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Calgary and a place that’s got a really cool vibe! It kind of reminds me of Camden in London (or the Lower East Side in NYC) and is a great place to wander around the independent stores or yummy restaurants.
