26. Okt. 2011 · St. Ann’s Hospital. St. Ann’s was founded in 1908 as a home for infants and unwed mothers. The original building was located at Bryden Road and Kelton Avenue. By the 1920’s the hospital had gradually converted to a maternity hospital, as home deliveries became less frequent.

Mt. Carmel Hospitals – Columbus (Mt. Carmel – East; Mt. Carmel – West; St. Ann, Westerville). Mt. Carmel opened in 1886, by the Sisters of the Holy Cross from St. Mary's, Indiana. In 1972, Mt. Carmel East opened to serve the suburbs. Also, St. Ann's Hospital was bought by Mt. Carmel in 1995.

The College of Saint Mary of the Springs formally opened in 1924, as a Catholic women’s college in Columbus, Ohio. In 1964, the College allowed men to enroll.

Nov. 2012 · Built in 1847 at 311 East State Street (present site of Grant Medical Center), this Norman Gothic structure was the first to combine patient care and clinical teaching in the same facility in the United States. St. Francis Hospital comprised two-thirds of the building with Starling Medical College housed in the remainder.
