    Early years: Inception and self-titled debut EP

    In 2000, singer Nathan Nicholson left his hometown of Maryville, Tennessee after the death of his mother and moved to London. Nicholson connected with guitarist Todd Howe through an online posting for musicians that resulted in the creation of a firm friendship and the beginnings of a band. Nov. 2009 · The Boxer Rebellion was a Chinese uprising in 1900 against Western and Japanese influence in China, led by a secret society called the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fists. The rebels killed foreigners and Chinese Christians, destroyed property and besieged the foreign district of Beijing until an international force subdued them. China paid reparations and the Qing dynasty was weakened by the uprising.
