Mai 2024 · Plastic manは The Kinks が1969年3月に発表したシングルレコード。 The BeatlesやThe who等は、相変わらず次々とヒット曲を出す中、The Kinksはというとヒットチャートからどんどん遠ざかっていった時期だった。 ヒット曲に渇望していたのだろう、何とこの曲イギリスでは録音後数日で発売されたんだそうだ。 ところが残念な事にというかやっぱりというか、このシングルも見事に失敗する。 U.K.チャートでは31位どまり、アメリカでは発売すらされなかった。 悪い時期には悪い事が起きるもので、この曲の歌詞の中のbum（ケツ）と言う単語が、BBCのお気に召さなかったようで放送禁止にされてしまった。 十分なプロモーションがなければ、そりゃあ売れないわな。
