There are many reasons to visit Todmorden, it has a long and spectacular history; it’s high point being the Industrial Revolution. It is a bustling market town, with plenty of shopping opportunities, sitting on the Lancashire-Yorkshire border.
Prehistory. In 1898, Blackheath Barrow—a ring cairn monument situated above Cross Stone in Todmorden [11] —was excavated and proved to be a site of "surpassing archaeological interest", according to J. Lawton Russell, one of the men who carried out the excavation. [12] .

11. Juli 2019 · This cotton mill was constructed at the beginning of the 19 th century. Its owners also built around some housing blocks for workers and more beautiful villas for managers. The mill building looks brutal and stable. It was made of stone bricks and reconstructed several times. The front of the building has some traces of a fire.
