  3. Country singer. Elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. Recorded his famous hit song, "In the Jailhouse Now" with legendary Nashville session guitarist Hank Garland. It was number 1 on the charts for 21 weeks in a row in 1955. He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 1600 Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
