Brian London was a British heavyweight boxer who fought from 1955 to 1970. He challenged for the world title twice, losing to Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson, and won the EBU European title in 1960.
24. Juni 2021 · Brian London, who took his nickname from his hometown Blackpool, challenged Muhammad Ali for the world heavyweight title in 1966. He also ran a nightclub frequented by sports stars and showbiz icons, and entertained Bobby Moore and West Ham before a FA Cup match.
Brian London, who has died aged 87, was the son of a boxing legend and a world title challenger himself. He fought many of the great names of his era, but also suffered some controversial losses and disappointing performances.
