The following is a comprehensive discography of the Doobie Brothers, an American rock band. Ten of their albums were certified gold or platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Their first greatest hits album, released in 1976, " Best of The Doobies ," achieved diamond status.
The group officially split in 1982 but re-formed in 1987 with Johnston resuming the lead. They have released 13 albums. Their 1973's "Long Train Runnin'", "Black Water" as well as "What a Fool Believes", "Minute by Minute" are considered all time classics.

The band's sixteen Billboard Hot 100 top-40 hits include "Listen to the Music", "Jesus is Just Alright", "Long Train Runnin'", "China Grove", "Black Water" (#1 in 1974), "Takin' It to the Streets", "What A Fool Believes" (#1 in 1979), and "The Doctor", all of which receive rotation on classic hits radio stations.

The Doobie Brothers wurden 1969 von Tom Johnston, John Hartman, Skip Spence (ex- Moby Grape) und Gregg Murph in Süd-Kalifornien unter dem Bandnamen Pud gegründet. Gregg Murph verließ bald die Band, als Ersatz kam Dave Shogren. 1970 kam noch Patrick Simmons dazu.
