Richard John Cyril Allen (* 1. November 1963 in Derbyshire, Großbritannien) ist ein englischer Musiker und seit 1978 Schlagzeuger der Hard-Rock -Band Def Leppard. 1985 verlor er nach einem Autounfall seinen linken Arm, der an der Schulter amputiert werden musste.

Seit 1978 ist er der Schlagzeuger der weltbekannten Rockband „Def Leppard“, der er bereits mit nur 15 Jahren beitrat. Zusammen mit seiner Band füllt er bis heute riesige Stadien, dabei sah es zwischenzeitlich so aus, als wäre seine Karriere mit einem Schlag vorbei.

Music is a journey, an expression and a way to connect. It’s a gift that touches every human being. Playing drums rocks. But for me it’s also about mastering the art of mindfulness. Every time I play I learn how to connect my body and mind in a new way.
