Grace Darmond in the 1919 film The Valley of the Giants. Career. As a teenager, Grace Glionna began to appear on the stage, changing her name to Grace Darmond. She signed with Selig Polyscope Company in 1914, and made her film debut in the comedy short The Clock Went Wrong. Darmond was active onscreen from 1914 to 1927.
