15. Sept. 2020 · Hawks discovered that Carmichael was both a natural actor and surprisingly photogenic (one of the characters in Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale remarks that James Bond “reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael”).
As a singer, however, the delightful memories of his performance in the old Bogart & Bacall movie classic To Have and Have Not, as a prime example, are not always repeatable with such moving results.
