June Millington is a Filipino-American guitarist, songwriter and producer who co-founded the first all-women rock band Fanny in 1969. She also created the Institute for the Musical Arts, a nonprofit that supports women in music and music-related business, and released several solo albums and collaborations.
The group was founded by sisters June and Jean Millington (on guitar and bass respectively), who had been playing music together since they moved from the Philippines to California in the early 1960s.
June Millington is a legendary musician who played in Fanny, one of the first all-female rock bands, and also produced albums for women's music artists. She is also an activist and educator who founded the Institute for the Musical Arts, a facility for women and girls in music.
