31. Mai 2019 · The 13th Floor Elevators singer and cult figure battled mental illness for much of his life, but played an incredible series of comeback shows in the 2000s. He co-founded the 13th Floor Elevators in 1965 and wrote many of their songs, but was sent to a mental hospital in 1969 and released in 1972. He released several albums and toured with his new band the Aliens in the 1980s and 1990s.
