Sky "Sunlight" Saxon (born Richard Elvern Marsh; August 20, 1937 – June 25, 2009) was an American rock and roll musician best known as the leader and singer of the 1960s Los Angeles psychedelic garage rock band The Seeds.
Sky Saxon (eigentlich Richard Elvern Marsh, * 20. August 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah; † 25. Juni 2009 in Austin, Texas) war ein US-amerikanischer Rock-’n’-Roll -Sänger. Seine bekannteste Gruppe war in den 1960er-Jahren die Garage-Rock -Band The Seeds, in der er auch Bass und Mundharmonika spielte.
American rock singer aka Sky Sunlight Saxon, born on 20 August 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA and died on 25 June 2009 in Austin, Texas, USA. Saxon is mainly known as leader and singer of garage rock band The Seeds. He began his career as a doo-wop influenced singer under the name Little Ritchie Marsh in the early 1960s.
The band's classic line-up featured frontman Sky Saxon, guitarist Jan Savage (born Buck Jan Reeder), keyboardist Daryl Hooper and drummer Rick Andridge. In 1968, the band changed their name to Sky Saxon and the Seeds , with Savage and Andridge departing the band.
