The Shirelles were an American girl group formed in Passaic, New Jersey in 1957. They consisted of schoolmates Shirley Owens (later Shirley Alston Reeves), Doris Coley (later Doris Kenner-Jackson), Addie "Micki" Harris (later Addie Harris McFadden), and Beverly Lee.
The Shirelles were the first major female vocal group of the rock and roll era, preceding Motown as a crossover phenomenon with white audiences. Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 (Performer).

The group’s first hit single, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, marked the beginning of a string of major hits for the group, including “Boys” (1960), “Baby It’s You” (1961), and “Soldier Boy” (1962). The Shirelles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
