Personal life Horne at her 80th birthday party, 1997. Horne married Louis Jordan Jones, a political operative, in January 1937 in Pittsburgh. On December 21, 1937, their daughter, Gail (later known as Gail Lumet Buckley, a writer) was born. They had a son, Edwin Jones (1940–1970) who died of kidney disease.
